πΏ Hello, this is Grace, a mom of two sons.
I recently bought some beef for grilling at a great price, but it turned out a bit tough when cooked normally. So I decided to transform it into a delicious meal — crispy gyukatsu paired with a warm bowl of udon π It’s simple enough to make at home yet satisfying enough for a family dinner. Let me guide you through this easy recipe step by step! π½οΈβ¨

πͺ β¨ How to Make Gyukatsu
If the beef feels tough, score both sides in an X pattern and gently pound it with a meat mallet to tenderize it π
Lightly coat the beef with cooking wine to remove any odor, then season with salt and pepper. Next, coat it in flour → egg wash → breadcrumbs, just like tonkatsu. Pan-fry until golden brown for a crispy outside and juicy inside π

π² β¨ How to Make Udon (Super Easy!)
Boil water and add the udon noodles. Important tip π Don’t separate the noodles with chopsticks immediately, as they may break. Let them loosen naturally π
In another pot, add 550ml of water and about 1½ tablespoons of tsuyu, adjusting to taste. Once the broth is boiling, place the soup flakes in a bowl, add the cooked noodles, and pour the hot broth over them for a comforting bowl of udon.
β οΈ Never rinse cooked udon noodles — just drain them to keep the broth flavorful.
