불당동은 맛집이 워낙 많은 동네라 “어디를 가야 실패하지 않을까” 늘 고민이 되는데요, 이번에는 가족 모임 겸 외식이라 어른도 만족하고 아이들도 함께 먹을 수 있는 곳을 찾다가 통삼국 신불당점을 방문하게 되었어요.

외관부터 깔끔하고, 내부도 넓어서 단체 손님 받기에도 좋아 보였어요. 실제로 들어가 보니 테이블 간 간격도 적당해서 아이들과 함께 앉아도 불편함이 없었고, 전체적으로 시끌벅적하기보다는 편안하게 고기 먹기 좋은 분위기라 마음에 들었어요.

Today, I’d like to share our visit to Tongsamguk Sinbuldang Branch, a pork belly (samgyeopsal) restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan that’s been getting a lot of word-of-mouth praise. We were truly satisfied with this place for a family dinner and group gathering. If you love grilled pork but often feel it gets too greasy to eat much, I think you’ll enjoy reading this post until the end 😊

📍 A Must-Visit Samgyeopsal Restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan – Tongsamguk Sinbuldang

Buldang-dong is packed with great restaurants, so I always find myself wondering, “Where can we go without failing?” This time, we were looking for a place where adults would be satisfied and kids could comfortably enjoy a meal too, as it was a family gathering. That’s how we ended up visiting Tongsamguk Sinbuldang.

From the outside, the restaurant looks clean and well-organized, and the interior is spacious enough to accommodate group diners. Once inside, I really liked that the tables were nicely spaced out, making it comfortable even with children. Rather than being overly noisy, the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming—perfect for enjoying a good barbecue meal with family.

총 9명이 함께 방문했어요.
결론부터 말하자면… 삼겹살이 너무 맛있어서 총 11인분이나 먹었답니다 😆

처음엔 “이 정도면 충분하겠지?” 했는데, 고기를 먹다 보니 젓가락이 멈추질 않더라고요. 그만큼 고기 맛이 좋았다는 증거겠죠.

That day, our group consisted of:

So, a total of 9 people visited together.

To get straight to the point… the pork belly was so delicious that we ended up ordering 11 servings 😆

At first, we thought, “This should be more than enough,” but once we started eating, we just couldn’t put our chopsticks down. That alone says a lot about how good the meat was!

🥩 통삼국 삼겹살 – 첫 입부터 다르다

삼겹살이 나오자마자 바로 느껴졌어요.
“아, 여기 고기 다르다.”

첫 입에 딱 느껴지는 건 고기 질이 좋다는 것이었어요. 육즙은 살아 있으면서도 잡내가 전혀 없고, 불판에 구워도 기름이 과하게 튀지 않아서 먹는 내내 부담이 없었어요.

보통 삼겹살 먹다 보면
“처음엔 맛있는데 몇 점 지나면 느끼해서 못 먹겠어…”
이런 경험 많잖아요?

👉 통삼국 신불당점 삼겹살은 정말 끝까지 느끼하지 않았어요.
그래서 어른들도 “고기 질이 좋다”, “속이 편하다” 하시면서 계속 손이 가더라고요.
아이들 역시 잘 먹어서 괜히 더 뿌듯했어요.

 

 

삼겹살이 나오기 전부터 인상 깊었던 점이 있어요.

👉 고기를 굽기 전에 직원분께서 생고기에 소금, 후추로 밑간을 원하는지 먼저 물어봐 주세요.
원한다고 하니 바로 깔끔하게 밑간을 해서 가져다주시더라고요. 이런 세심한 질문 하나만으로도 “아, 여긴 고기에 진심이구나”라는 생각이 들었어요.

그리고 더 좋았던 점은
👉 직원분이 직접 고기를 구워주신다는 것!

가족 모임이다 보니 이야기 나누느라 바쁜데, 고기 굽느라 정신없지 않아도 돼서 정말 편했어요. 덕분에 고기 타거나 덜 익을 걱정 없이, 편하게 대화하면서 식사할 수 있었어요.

이 집에서 특히 마음에 들었던 점 중 하나가 바로 소스를 골라 먹을 수 있다는 점이에요.
고기 맛이 기본적으로 좋다 보니, 어떤 소스와도 잘 어울렸어요.

The moment the pork belly was served, I could tell right away:
“Oh, this place is different.”

With the very first bite, the quality of the meat really stood out. It was juicy, had no unpleasant smell at all, and even while grilling, the fat didn’t splatter excessively. That made the whole meal feel light and comfortable.

Usually, when eating samgyeopsal, you get that feeling of:
“It’s great at first, but after a few bites, it gets too greasy…”
We’ve all been there, right?

👉 The samgyeopsal at Tongsamguk Sinbuldang was not greasy at all, even until the very end.
The adults kept saying things like, “The meat quality is excellent,” and “It feels easy on the stomach,” and everyone naturally kept reaching for more. The kids ate really well too, which made me feel even more satisfied.

Before the pork belly even hit the grill, there was something else that impressed me.

👉 The staff asked in advance whether we wanted the fresh meat seasoned with salt and pepper before grilling.
When we said yes, they neatly pre-seasoned it and brought it out. Just that one thoughtful question made me think, “They really care about their meat here.”

Since it was a family gathering, we were busy chatting and catching up. Not having to worry about grilling the meat ourselves made everything so much more relaxing. We could enjoy our conversation without worrying about burning or undercooking the pork.

고기를 어느 정도 먹고 나서 주문한 통삼국찌개!
이 찌개는 그냥 된장찌개가 아니에요.

👉 꽃게 + 차돌박이 + 감자가 들어간 된장찌개인데,
국물 맛이 정말 진하고 깊어요.

고기 먹고 난 뒤에 먹기 딱 좋은 스타일이라,
“아, 이건 진짜 후식 찌개다”라는 생각이 들었어요.

꽃게 덕분에 국물은 시원하고, 차돌박이가 들어가서 고소함도 살아 있어서 숟가락이 계속 갔답니다.

🍜 남편의 선택 – 라면은 진리

고기 + 찌개 조합이면 이미 충분한데,
역시 남편은 라면을 그냥 지나치지 못하더라고요 😄

라면까지 추가해서 먹으니 진짜 완벽한 마무리!

After we had eaten a good amount of pork, we ordered the Tongsamguk Stew.
This isn’t just an ordinary doenjang (soybean paste) stew.

👉 It’s made with blue crab, thin-sliced brisket, and potatoes, and the broth is incredibly rich and deep in flavor.

It was the perfect dish to have after eating grilled meat—so much so that I thought,
“This really is a true finishing stew.”

Thanks to the blue crab, the broth tasted refreshing and clean, while the brisket added a savory richness that kept us reaching for more spoonfuls.

🍜 My Husband’s Choice – Ramen Is Always the Right Answer

The combination of grilled pork and stew already felt complete, but of course, my husband couldn’t resist ordering ramen 😄

Adding ramen made the meal feel like the perfect finale. The kids were instantly curious about it, and the adults all laughed, saying,
